1. Who we are

Blue Route Logistics SL Limited ("Blue Route", "we", "us") is a company registered in Sierra Leone that administers the container security fee framework and operates the platform that tracks containers from release to return. 2. Information we collect

When you contact us. Your name, organisation, email address, the type of organisation you represent and your message.

When you use the platform. Your name, username, work email, organisation and role; a securely stored version of your password; and a record of the actions you take, kept in the audit trail.

Container and shipment records. To run the framework we receive records from shipping lines, the port terminal, approved depots and customs brokers. These can include container numbers, bills of lading and booking references, gate times, and the names and contact details of consignees, exporters, customs brokers and transporters.

When you visit the website. Basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you view, and the cookies described in section 7.

3. How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange meetings.
  • To create and manage platform accounts and keep them secure.
  • To track containers, send return reminders, flag overdue containers and calculate detention.
  • To prepare security fee statements for shipping lines and reconcile what is remitted.
  • To provide reports to shipping lines, the Sierra Leone Customs Brokers Union, regulators and the port authority under the framework.
  • To keep accurate records and an audit trail, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

Each organisation sees only the information it is responsible for:

  • Shipping lines see the containers and statements for their own line.
  • The port terminal and approved depots see gate activity at their own location.
  • The Sierra Leone Customs Brokers Union sees return records for containers handled by its members.
  • Regulators and the port authority receive structured reports, as agreed under the framework.
  • Our insurer receives the policy and claim details needed to insure each container cycle.
  • Service providers who host the platform, send emails and text messages, or support our systems, under contracts that require them to protect the information.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it. Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact with you. Container, policy and audit records are kept for at least seven years, and documents received from partners for at least five years, so that fees, claims and decisions can be checked and audited. When information is no longer needed we delete it or make it anonymous.

6. How we protect it

  • Information is encrypted when it travels over the internet and when it is stored.
  • Access is limited by role, so each person sees only what their job requires.
  • Passwords are never stored in readable form.
  • Every change is recorded in an audit trail, and important changes need the General Manager's approval.
  • Partner systems connect with their own keys, which we can withdraw at any time.

Our platform may be hosted on servers outside Sierra Leone. Where it is, we use providers that apply equivalent protection.

7. Cookies

The website and the platform use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to make the site work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete information we no longer need to keep;
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Some records, such as fee statements and audit records, must be kept by law or under the framework and cannot be deleted early. We will tell you if that applies. To make a request, email info@blueroutesl.com. We will reply within 30 days.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and we will tell platform users about any significant change.
